Los Saludos de Dania Beach, Florida!

Greetings all, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and are gearing up for the New Year. I have been off the radar for several months. In July I suffered a severe alergic reaction from some medication my doctor prescribed for me for my stomach. Luckily I was at work at the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale Airport at the time. Paramedics arrived within minutes thank god. Everything shut down, almost cashed in my chips! Anyway, I am recovered, rested and planning my return to Colombia. I have been out of the loop so to speak.I need some information. Now that I am back on the mainland (Dania Beach, Florida) I have access to many good book stores. But I can't find anything in the stores or libraries about Colombia. It really angers me, It is like the place does not even exist. Please recommend some books I can buy about Colombia and the struggle with the FARC. I will purchase them and donate them to the local libraries. Have a wonderful New Year!

GLAD YOU ARE OK Hello b bruce. Glad you are OK. These Doctors here because of the way health care has become can do more harm than good. I always read every med. they prescribe before taking, but an allergic reaction can really surprise you.

Besides Lonely Planet (new version not rated well, mostly same info. as previous) there is another Colombia guide book but don't remember the name of the top of my head. Also you might try a search in Amazon. I found the following on violence in CO:

http://www.amazon.com/Violence-Colombia-1990-2000-Negotiating-Silhouettes/dp/0842028706/sr=1-9/qid=1167753902/ref=sr_1_9/102-3886399-7512936?ie=UTF8&s=books

Good luck and good health!
