Looking to Volunteer in Bogota

Hi my name is Meghan Fernandes, and I am seriously searching for an organization I could volunteer for in Bogota. I have emailed a few that I found on the internet but I have not received any responce from them. If anyone knows of any organizations that need help, I would really appriciate it. I love to work with kids, I speak moderate Spanish but I am constantly working on improving, and I am a peaceful person. I am willing to volunteer for a year. Any information or advice would be wonderful, its been really frusterating searching and not getting anywhere. Thank you very much!

There's a guy named GIB who may be able to help you out. He lives in Bogota.
I think his email is: spencemence at hotmail.com He can probably steer you in the right direction.

Opción Colombia is a worthwhile considering:

It links college students with public projects in rural areas. I'm sure they could use some able hands and brains, and it would be a great opportunity to learn about Colombia even if you don't go to any of the worksites.

Some places Hi Meghan. I have a list of reputable foundations in Colombia that are having social work with children in Bogota. I specially touched by Fundacion Ninos de los Andes and also, Hogares Juveniles Campesinos. If you need any translation Spanish-English, email me, I’ll do my best: a_dentro at yahoo.com.mx . Oh, I forgot to say something important: in Colombia is hard to get a response soon by email. Try by phone if is urgent or repeat your message constantly.
