Looking for Work/Volunteer in Bogota

Hi,

I´m in an unfortunate situation where I lost my bank card in Panama right before I entered Colombia. I found out it was gone after travelling from Cartagena to Sincelejo. Once there, I called my banks call center and they told me since I recently changed my home address, for security reasons (computer locks it so they can´t change it), that I would have to wait 1 to 2 months before they can send me a new card! I´m now stuck in Colombia with no one back home that I can call for help.

Since I needed to kill time and really save on the few pesos I had left, I ended up walking to Bogota (two weeks and 5 days), which by the way made me fall completely in love with this country. Everyone I meet on the road was extremely friendly and helpful from all the locals from the small towns to the military patrolling the highway. If it wasn't for them I would have never made it to Bogota alive. (I chose Bogota since i feel it is a lot safer then Medellin and my bank said that it was one of the only places they could send via FedEx)

Anyway, my post is about finding any possible work/volunteer while stuck here in beautiful Colombia. Any suggestions would also be grateful. I know the work in Colombia is very limited but I believe there is something that I can do. I have experience working in restaurants as a waiter, prep cook, and computers. Also any labor work would be great. I expect very little pay. I just need to make enough to eat until I can leave.

I figured this was the best forum for finding something becuase you guys are so helpful. Also going to try to get info at hostels for help.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

Ben

I just sent you an email message chorizo. I´m sorry been getting so lost in this city that its hard for me to find this library again at time. My legs want to fall off!

thegrower -- yeah i really need to check out english schools but most that i come across are closed. I hope i get lucky and find one. Oh my bank is washington mutual and they started out nice but since they are so big now they have the I-dont-give-a-damn-about-you attitude like Chase. I can´t call and harass them like before but that wasn´t working since I would get a new unhelpful person everytime. Ugh..I can go on and on...

Anyway....I send you a message Chorizo..it would be great to meet up. I need to talk to someone in this city.
