Take your C.V round the Institutes that you can find in the Yellow pages......there are quite a few. The CCA, Meyer, Berlitz etc...... maybe some of the Private Universities.....San Martin, Autonoma, Simon Bolivar.....Harder to get in a Uni, but would give more hours and less crap!! I always have people asking for Private lessons, experience determines what you can charge, although nobody will pay more than 20-25mil an hour...and that is for a good teacher........keep us posted on how you get on

You're a busy guy: Building five homes in Florida, wanting to import Colombian construction materials, starting an internet cafe in Barranquilla, looking for an English-teaching job in Barranquilla, selling mortgage advice in Santa Marta, and a travel agent to boot. It makes me tired just reading it.

Good point Tinto. Carramberochris, yea, they are CHEAP and TIGHT here in BAQ, they want something for very few $$$$. I have turned down several job offers because they dont want to pay. For $20.000.00 pesos per hour, I would rather stay at home or be out and about than teaching. Thats the problem, they cant afford or dont want to pay GOOD teachers, thats why 95% of what you see in the schools are Colombians who have very POOR english skills standing up and saying they are the ENGLISH TEACHER. There is lots of good talent around but the majority refuse to work for such low wages, myself included.

I am fortunate enough to have a job that pays well so I always refuse a lot of private work.much prefer to be out in the sun with fria in my hand. I don´t know if it´s the same in other parts of the country, even wealthy people here don´t want to pay more than 20k an hour. That´s the people of b´quilla for you, they don´t mind blowing the price of 2 apartments on a huge SUV or truck!!!! DUROS!!!!!

in B/manga they are cheap assholes...for private class...your looking at around maybe 12,000 to 15,000....but what I don't understand is that these people will pay for an expensive course with a bad English teacher....and be very happy

I used to do some private classes in b´manga and they were prepared to pay less than B`quilla. Maybe the price cost of living is a little lower there but even so......I was charging 15k and I had to travel out past cañaveral! Unless you really have to do it, not worth the time or the effort.

i am know thats alot....its called buisness...own everything do nothing...its system....read the book rich dad poor dad....padre rico padre pobre.........my homes are just about done........i have hired people to finish the work here in the states... the homes are sold when they finish.... i just have to finish them..... my export business is so so..... as i have to do more ressearch on that. the internet cafe will be going as soon as soon as i find a local in BAQ.......... except the local owner are retarded they want your life story ...... i offered one year rent paid in full and up front....just give me the keys.... and the dummy said hang on let me get my lawyer i need your see your papers for your house your bank statements and get two (2) colombian sponors...... all this for a local that was 800.000 peso......forget it.......there got to be an easier way....if this country wants to get above the poverty they see they need to start letting foreginers invest with little problems... expecially ones with cash upfront....... can not believe this........
