Do you realize what someone here can get for that on a monthly basis? I have a mini-mansion in the South, BRAND NEW, 3br/3ba, 2 stories, balcony, closed-in two-story huge back porch, mountain views, private garage, huge kitchen, vaulted wooden ceilings everywhere, private gated community. I live alone, no roommate issues, WITH all services only pay about 1.4 million monthly.

So...good luck...maybe consider working a better deal than that nightly price with your landlord before getting any serious responses. I've seen the one you are renting - overpriced as a long-term investment for anyone unless you have money to piss away.

You won't find a tourist here...

Long term I would probably agree with you guys. I'm actually not looking for anybody too long term. But short term it's a different story. If somebody is in town only for one or two weeks, he's getting a GREAT deal. $60/night for 1/2 of a GORGEOUS For an apartment like this in Poblado you can easily pay $110-$140/night. I know the market quite well. For longer periods I'm willing to knock down the nightly rate somewhat, but for $40/nights or less it's really not worth the loss in privacy you have. Anyway, I appreciate everybody's opinion.

rb... I can see the purpose to paying more for short-term (few days to few months), but it just seems to be a lot for someone (even two people splitting it) to be paying. I'm sure you'll find someone to take the bait, but usually there is a better-than-nightly price for longer term, like multiple weeks or months.

Durito... La Estrella, booming with new areas to live (both Suramerica and La Estrella). Before you say "too far", it is only 9km to Poblado and only about 10 minutes via bus to the metro station. I have searched for about a year and a half before finally deciding to come here. Renting now, and will be buying at the end of my contract.

You won't find a tourist here...

La Estrella has everything...it's just not a Poblado. It is all about halfway up, much like Poblado, with great views. Restaurants are all mom-and-pop style, with a great parque La Estrella thats always hoppin'! There is at least one small gym in town I have driven by, and actually plan to check it out soon myself! Take the metro to Itagui, and the green bus to La Estrella. Hop off and get to know the area!

Sabaneta is very nice, home of la vigin de los sicarios.

I was invited to dinner as some finca type restaurant and disco one night. Good food and drinks, and great horse and pony show with dinner. I forget the name of the place.
