From what I heard, most jobs advertised in Medellin require selling something in a door-to-door salesman type of way.

Hi paisita: Since more and more foreigners are coming down here for both business and pleasure, there's a great demand for people who speak english fluently here in Medellin, So when you get here let me know, I'll be glad to help you out.

Sorry for being vague! I thought I was joining a forum that was interested in helping not criticizing! But I have been a District manager for a retail company for 14 yrs for a very popular specialty retailer. I currently oversee 15 stores in 4 states . I have extensive sales and management background. I am very open to new opportunites and know that being fluent in both languages can be a big plus. If anyone knows of any opportunities open please let me know. and sorry I was not specific on my post

ps thank you lanegrapaisa!!

young lady. no body was trying to shovel shit in your direction. really. we're a family here and you take the long with the short, the hot with the cold. relax.

finding a high-line retail position in colombia is akin to lookin for chicken teeth. really rare. if you're, as you say, so experienced, you should know that on line queries with the likes of exito, or coltejer, of airlines, where expertise is used, is your avenue. no one on this forum is in a position to slip you in to the queue of employment. if so, with complete respect, why you, why not their sister, cousin, wife, or friend. lets be serious. you are in a specialty catagory and flogging your abilities and merits is really in your hands..and listening to you laud your abilities, i should think that if you do enough research, you might land something.

years back, i contracted to neiman marcus to be their natl sales mgr for oriental carpets. well, with that feather in my hat, do you think i can march down to the home land, colombia, and walk into a fantastic, nice paying job. i think not. colombia has a plethora of highly talented young persons capable of running all manner of businesses. unfortunately, positions are lacking and employers are a stingy, fricken lot. soooooo, it is with an honest heart and much support, i wish you much luck. you have a steep incline and a lot of work, just keep the faith and something, maybe far from what you're accostomed to, will come your way.
