looking for an investment opportunity

I am considering a possible venture within the gemstone business, most possibly emeralds on the rough. Can anyone here have contacts that could be of assistance (and provide good pricing). Even better, if anyone here can help me get emeralds on the rough at good prices could you post back? In either event I do thank you for your time and due diligence.

Rough emeralds Are you looking to buy in the US or travel to Colombia and buy here?
If you are going to buy here come into Medellin, get a friend with a car and head east towards Bogota. About 2.5 hours away you will be in the heart of the emerald mining area with the 3 main mines being close. Probably the best area being the Muzo Mine.
Know your stuff and don't have cash. Have your selections delivered to you in Medellin and pay by bank consignment if possible.

These jokers are funny! Go to Bogota. Why the f*ck do you have to go to some mine for? All of the dealing is done in the Capital with reputable people. First, you have to know about the gems, so please educate yourself before you begin this endeavor. PM me and I can advise you.

Another Big Question, How do you plan on getting them from Col to the USA in a safe, reasonably priced manner? This can present a problem on what constitutes "reasonable"...... Please look into this very closely...

MIke My buisness partner, does this,I can put you in touch with him.
Or contact the man above without comming here, the reason is unless you were born there and have a direct contact with those who can get the emeralds you cant get them from the mine. The other best thing to do is come to Bogota and make the deals here.

Wrong Info The first poster has NO IDEA about where Muzo is located, he wrote that you go to Medellin and then take a car and about 2.5 hours later you're in the emerald region, that's absolutely wrong.
Muzo is in Boyaca and it's closer to Bogota, not Medellin.
Besides, the emerald businesses take place in Bogota not in the mines as other poster correctly wrote about that.

It is true the Muzo mine is in Boyaca. And I could be wrong as it might actually be closer to Bogota but not by much. Possible since I live in Medellin I was a little jaded without conscience about making Medellin the home base, and maybe it is only me but the road from Med to Muzo seems better than Muzo to Bog. It is also true that the emerald trading takes place in Bogota, this being mostly in cut and polished emeralds. Did you read the post? gmz21 specifically asked about emeralds on the rough. Now maybe I'm wrong having only done this trip twice. Maybe I'm absolutely wrong.... You know it is only people with vast experience about a subject that would ever use the word "absolute."

Thirty years in emerald business I deal in untreated rough and cut emeralds. I'd be interested in hearing more details on your plan.
