I am considering a possible venture within the gemstone business, most possibly emeralds on the rough. Can anyone here have contacts that could be of assistance (and provide good pricing). Even better, if anyone here can help me get emeralds on the rough at good prices could you post back? In either event I do thank you for your time and due diligence.

First, you have to know about the gems, so please educate yourself before you begin this endeavor. PM me and I can advise you.

miamimike says on Jan 28, 2006, 23:26: Another Big Question, How do you plan on getting them from Col to the USA in a safe, reasonably priced manner? This can present a problem on what constitutes "reasonable"...... Please look into this very closely... "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." -- Feb. 28, 2008 --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

ColombiaBoard says on Jan 29, 2006, 09:10: Wrong Info The first poster has NO IDEA about where Muzo is located, he wrote that you go to Medellin and then take a car and about 2.5 hours later you're in the emerald region, that's absolutely wrong.

MedellinViking says on Jan 29, 2006, 12:23: It is true the Muzo mine is in Boyaca. And I could be wrong as it might actually be closer to Bogota but not by much. Possible since I live in Medellin I was a little jaded without conscience about making Medellin the home base, and maybe it is only me but the road from Med to Muzo seems better than Muzo to Bog. It is also true that the emerald trading takes place in Bogota, this being mostly in cut and polished emeralds. Did you read the post? gmz21 specifically asked about emeralds on the rough. Now maybe I'm wrong having only done this trip twice. Maybe I'm absolutely wrong.... You know it is only people with vast experience about a subject that would ever use the word "absolute." Live your fantasies because life is short and from all I've seen death is really, really long.... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
