Looking for a room in Bogota?

Hello friends!

I have a room in one of the best areas of bogota. 5-10 minute walk to Parque 93 where you'll find amazing restaurants, and 15 min walk to Zona Rosa, the most prestigious area in Bogota.

I live in a great area, the safest, and right across from what I believe is the nicest parks here. Always weddings happening.

The room has a queen bed and flat screen tv. I have wireless internet too. The only thing is that the living room is temporarily being used as an office.

The room rents for $750 a month. All inclusive.
Again this is the best area. I am at Cra 7 and 92.

Sounds little high for a room, but it is a nice area. You looking to rent to short term gringos?
You mean about 1,300.000 COP per month? I'm curious if that's what other rooms in the area rent for. Bogota has gotten expensive!

your right. My rent is 2 million, add utilities and internet it adds up!

Its because of the area, its a very high end. You can get more expensive and cheaper depends on where you go.

I am a 7 min walk to the gym - Bodytech, 7 min to parque 93 and 15 to zone rosa, right on Cra. 7.

I was looking at buying a place, on Cra 7 and 85, there are condos 2 bedrooms going for $350,000 USD!!
Cheers!

I understand that location is everything, and Bogota is where it's at... Just curious, should I some day be in the position to live in Colombia for a while what to expect. I know rents here in the states in NYC or San Francisco are sky high so I guess Bogota is comparable. I don't begrudge anyone getting a fair market price.

I have been thinking a lot about visiting colombia as well... and I found the "eltiempo" newspaper website the other day and looked at the housing section (bienes raices). Rent is "arrendar" versus "rentar" in Mexican Spanish.

I have utterly NO IDEA where these rentals are located at since I don't have a clue as to the layout of Bogota, but the prices are much cheaper than what you have listed here for rooms and for apartments. Granted, they're probably not close to the gym but it's a place to see more prices and what's available right now. I bet there are "gringo" prices if you call in and don't speak good Paisa Spanish though... It would pay off to have a Colombiano or Colombiana make the phone call, set up the viewing and go with you to insure you get the Paisa price and not get Gringoed. It happens to people in Mexico so it's bound to happen in Colombia :( Lots of extra prices to not speaking Spanish like a local :(

A basic hotel room is $25 a night which equates to the same amount, that is in Chap or in rougher areas.

Again its all about the area. You can find a $500 a month room in NYC, and you can find a $1500 a month room as well.

Thanks for the help and the update its great information for those looking for a basic place. I am used to living in high end, and the best places. The people I share with I assume they demand the best too!

I encourge you to look at Cra 7 and 92. A little south makes a difference.

Or come by my building Cra 7 and 92a-80. There are 3 apartments here listed for rent.. from 2 to 2.5 million for 2 bedrooms.

Standard for this status.

street noise?

Those tall high rise apts , that overlook the city are nice.

The view is of the mountains the living room as mentioned is an office, but is overlooking Chico park and the city. The room is very quite. I am opening it from now till the end of september. You would have a fireplace in your room as well.

After September the room will need to be moved into the other room without a fireplace.
