babygirl, what happened was, I went out with some friends last nite to this Salsa thing, one of my friends and I were the only Colombians and Latinas, the rest British, and they all were learning to dance salsa, some were OK, they dance the song on the video, but they danced it a bit like salsa, I told my friend that that the song was for bachata not salsa, my British friends never heard of it and also those people were not dancing it properly, so I was looking for the video to send it to her.

One think, it is awful dancing with people that are learning to dance salsa, they don't feel the music, and also they dance like ballroom salsa, A guy took me out for a dance last nite and I could not dance properly with him, every step of him was "calculated" you know one, two , three etc, I can't dance like that!. The man usually leads, you know when he wants you to turn around and do certain step, I felt lost.

Oh ya I know what you mean about the ballroom style. What a difference eh? I've had guys 'snap' at me before because I'm not counting with them haaha. I can follow Colombians but they have to be strong leaders. I found my problem was on the coast they didn't lead me AT ALL so I didn't know what to do and after getting yelled at (here in Canada) to let the man lead... well you can see where this is going. I love dancing with my Cuban friends. It's just fun, messing around, we mess up but we're having a blast. I've danced with a couple Colombians here in Canada and I've been ok with them, but the guys on the Coast I was lost! Maybe I just had bad dancers Kat?

Here's a funny story about following the guy's lead. I was in a club and this man asked me to dance to a merengue song. Fine, I was being polite, I didn't really want to go as I was enjoying my beer and I don't really like to dance merengue. So we're dancing it's about half way through the song and the dj moves in to a salsa tune. Well my dance partner didn't change, he was still dancing merengue. Soooo me being polite, I pointed out that I think it's a salsa song. Well doesn't he argue with me!!! hahaha NO, it's not. Count the beats it's merengue or something ridiculous like that. I was getting embarrassed so I basically told him I was going back to my beer if he didn't start salsing hahaha. That was one lead I wasn't prepared to look retarded over.

SM is more salsa and regueton, the thing is that i could dance like that but with my boyfriend, because again, i cant imagine that strange leg into my tinything...jejejejej

OTM...I know! It's pretty.. umm intimate. hehehe. I've only danced Bachata with white people and Cubanos. The Cubanos make everything pretty sexy when they dance though. There's a joke we have about getting pregnant on the dance floor haha.
