Looking for a map of neighborhoods in Medellin

Does anyone know of a map of Medellin on the web...showing the different neighborhoods? I can't seem to tell where El Poblado barrio is in relation to other neighborhoods.

Also, there is another barrio there called "villa hermosa los angeles suramericana".

Basically, I'm trying to figure out where this latter one is in relation to the El Poblado barrio. And to see a map of ALL the barrios.

Thanks in advance.

Check out the link... The Suramericana neighbourhood is exactly underneath where ESTADIO is written on the map.
It will probably take you about 20 mins to get from there to El Poblado by car on a good day (little traffic), it will be longer by metro as you will have to change trains at the San Antonio station.

Have a look at this following links to get an idea of the metro system.

You can see where the main shopping centres are located on this one.

to BP Good links BP. I am supposed to visit a family in the Villa Hermosa neighborhood. But I am not sure where to stay. For one week. Is Villa Hermosa a bad neighborhood or a so-so one? In other words, where should I stay?

Thanks.

Villa Hermosa is not a bad neighbourhood, you can't compare it to El Poblado/Laureles but if you know people there then it is just as safe as anywhere else and I am sure they will point out the pitfalls. If you are going to be staying with your family then I would say go ahead, you will have the opportunity to get an insight on one of the middle-lower class neighbourhoods of the city and have a great time.

Just to clarify, Villa Hermosa and Suramericana are 2 different neighbourhoods in different parts. Suramericana, as BP says, is by Estadio, in the west, and Villa Hermosa is beyond the city centre heading north east (kind of). I would agree with BP re Villa Hermosa. Just don't walk around too much at night (same applies to most places) and keep a look out at all times anyway.

maps you can get maps of medellin down town in central..just ask for planas or mapas. also, el colobiano back out in lower poblado/envigado, produces or distributes. they are very fine maps.
i have maps of medellin, antioquia and colombia, all of which were allegedly obtained from el colombiano. i bought all of mine, plastic covered with wood trim at the upper and lower ends from a chap who sold them along the street in between poblado and envigado. too, around the metro station in poblado and around the college in envigado/poblado below el exito.

in centro, around the book shops close to the parke del bassilica you will probably find map vendors. watch on the streets, too. and just ask in a few stores downtown. around la playa, oriental, junin and around the park.

good luck
