Anyone know of a cheap apartment in medellin? I'm talking maybe 300.000 pesos a month. Maybe a roommate situation? I know there are apartments for that price and cheaper. Would perfer a relatively safe area. I'm not looking for a furnished apartment because they seem to be expensive.

Try Centro which I seen new buildings two bedroom or 3 from 450,000 to 550,000 in the Boston Area..There is one street that has new buildings panthdave Miami |

Barrio tejelo or Florencia are great places very close to Bello and you will find rent along the Price line that you are searching. Estrato 3 is not so bad by they way. Good luck.

It is NOT easy to rent a cheap place here in Colombia. Maybe some of the posters above will sponsor you????? I think the only way you will be able to do this on your own is look in the newspaper and find someone who will rent to you on their own without a real estate person being involved. If you do not speak good Spanish you will have more of a problem. Intend on spending at least a month to find a place and signing the appropriate papers, co-signers, notoria a so on. Now having said this, you may get lucky and find a place that suits you. You should not, however, believe that this is easy to do. And, you will likely have to pay for water (expensive), lights and gas if you use a propane stove. You should also take into account that "you get what you pay for," is well and alive in Colombia. There is a reason why things are cheaper in the lower estrados in Colombia. You may want to also look at Envegado. Some other posters here will, I am sure give you more and better advice regarding the process of renting here in Colombia. I do wish you success in your apartment hunting.
