Peter (Moderator) says on Jun 21, 2007, 03:45: No it just looks a bit weird because of the straight-on flash. You can tell by looking at the shadows - they're consistent with a close flash throughout the picture. :) Poor but snappy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lowell says on Jun 21, 2007, 07:24: I've been feeding the same type of birds at my place for several weeks, along with about 4 doves. They seem to be geting more tame by the day. Alfred E. Newman. "What. Me Worry?" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

ColombianoGringo says on Jun 21, 2007, 07:39: I forget if it is good or bad, but that is supposed to bring some kind of luck according to Colombian superstitions. Good I think. Shows you how much I listen to superstitions.

Robert Jorge says on Jun 21, 2007, 10:30: That's much nicer than the visitors we got when we had a first floor apartment in Villavo. A 3 foot iguana took up a perch inside the bathroom window once. The real fun one was a feral cat that decided to jump into our living room while I was watching Sin Tetas, No Hay Paraiso. I could handle a little tweety bird. It has been briefly discussed before, but why are there no window screens in Colombia? ... I am sure there are somewhere, but they must be a VERY rare item. I never saw one. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. Lowell says on Jun 21, 2007, 12:06: I made screens for all my exterior windows. I brought plastic screening with me from Panama on one of my trips. I've seen metal screen at Homecenter. Yep, I'm the only one that I know who uses screened windows. I enjoy a whole lot less flies, mosquitos..... Alfred E. Newman. "What. Me Worry?" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Atrevido says on Jun 21, 2007, 13:36: As a wild all yellow bird in Cali I´d say it´s a Safron Finch (English) or Sicalis Coronado (Spanish).

adrimm says on Jun 21, 2007, 19:33: RJ - I think it is the slat window phenomenon. Folks value natural air circulation and the slat windows seem to catch the breeze well ( I prefer casement windows myself).

Robert Jorge says on Jun 21, 2007, 21:20: I didn't even think of that (about the types of windows). My windows just swung out like glass doors, so it would have been impossible for there to be screens on them, unless mounted on the inside. We had 7 floors above us too, so when a storm would blow through, sometimes the people upstairs would have their windows crashing closed because of the wind, and it would be raining glass. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children.
