I don't ave time to go through this, but it sounds like either a.) an urban legend BS Hoax or b.) a couple of dumb Yankee biblets. I have been to Peru about 8 times and never got in Trouble. This should be in The Peru section, not Colombia section

It is the latter, dumb asses. I saw this on Discovery Channel a while back. I am sure it is real, but I am also sure it is equal to an IQ test...and they failed.

I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

So to summarize the video; two Americans get asked to smuggle coke out of Peru for cash, they say yes, they get caught, they go to prison. Move on folks...

I am dual citizen, and although I was born and raised in the States, I look very Colombian, and you notice in English because I have a southern accent, which then causes Colombians to think I am italian when I speak Spanish.

But I have had 20k offered in cash to me for my american passport, so a mule who looked just like me, could make runs back and forth.

I have also been offered cash to run dollars back and forth out of the country from the US.

These are things I did not go looking for but I assimilate easily in both countries, and would not be a likely suspect.

Typical Americans and Canadians think they can mosey on down and get into a little smuggling, and whine when they get caught.

Some people might think this but I don't believe this is typical thinking of most people. In fact I believe is the opposite.
Typical Americans and Canadians know how security is now a days and you would have to be pretty stupid , gullible or have some sense of invincibility superiority complex to have this type of thinking.Everyone knows drugs are illegal and most typical normal people just wouldn't take the chance.

True, but money dangled in front of people makes them do crazy things. And many north americans have a superiority complex about themselves when they live or travel in other countries.

When I lived in Manizales I did many orientations for teachers from Canada and the US, and it was like pulling teeth getting them to realize that they were the strangers, and their countries rules did not apply.

Knock on wood, but I have never been searched entering the US from Colombia. I have nothing to hide, I declare everything, but it would still suck to be hassled. Last time I came in, it was in Miami. I had 10 bottles of booze in my checked baggage and 3 cans of Aguila. One can exploded in my suitcase.

$20k is a small price to pay for a passport. If they figure out that you willingly sold it, you could go to jail for up to 25 years!

amen, huella.

when i first started living in medallo in 89.....i partied with the poblado elite....senadors, capos et al. we had great fun, literally, and since i was the only foreiner around, had money, did as i pleased, ran my business, etc. it wasn't long that some of the 'capos' made offers to me to incorporate their affairs with mine....(trust me, $20,000 as a bribe is chump change, a piddling propina) and i just declined, saying i had my own business affairs and didn't have to live my life with espaldas. i told them that i'd party anytime, as it was my nature, but trafficking was not on the table. we've all remained friends to this day. they go about their affairs and me, mine.

guys dont be surprised by Flatliners (theflatline) comments, you see he is only being a flatliner ie:

Flatliner... A mindless person or someone with no personality; gives blank stares, especially when presented with ideas or facts that should arouse some sort of reaction in a sentient being. Basically brain dead or mentally challenged. It would be improper to use this against someone who has a real diagnosed disability of course. More like, if you meet someone in a professional capacity whose title suggests they are intelligent, but really they just stand around looking dumb. well my bad.

Hope this can clear it up a bit.

I'm givin'er... givin'er HARDCORE

People are the same all over the world. I'd seen north Americans both being stupid and great as well as many other nationalities. Here in Zipaquira salt cathedral i heard american saying "What the HELL is that" pointing to some salt figurine.
