Llegaron los Magnificos

I read with interest most of the posts about the Chávez, Farc "alliance", about the march the first Monday of February.

I don´t take sides, just because there is a march agaisnt Farc, repuding their barbaric actions, killings, kidnappings, etc. That doesn´t make me pro-farc. Or someone who don´t care about his countrymen.

If there is a mach against Paramilitares I will go jus as an observer as well, now tell me there is a march against Farc-Paramilitares- Injusticia Social, Corrupcion. lost of natural resoruces I definaly will go, same as if there is an un-armed march to the jungle or to wherever the "Ejercito" knows the bad guys are, definaly I will be there.

I will be in the march as and observer. When there are some brainwashing and a herd of people is ralling against something, but letting aside other clear old problems, I can only think that it is a "Paño de agua" or a paliativo.

It is just like religion if it makes them feel good and don´t hurt anyone fine, but unfortunaly I do believe a few might be doing harm by lettting the other bad forces to the side, "Paramilitares- Injusticia Social, Corrupcion, lost of natural resoruces"

Se vende Colombia. Los magníficos están ganando la guerra

Hoy, esa arma que iba a solucionar los fenómenos subversivos del país, se ha convertido en una fuerza política, económica y militar que decidirá el futuro de las próximas elecciones.

Interesting point about distracting from other issues. But, I have to disagree.

One major problem in Colombia has been a lack of personal interest and participation in issues. People tend to only find the issues of minor curiosity, if it doesn't affect them directly. So, anytime there is a way to get people to participate personally, and take even minimal responsibility for what happens in their country, it is a step in the right direction. Who knows, it may become habit. Some day, politicans will actually care what the voters think!

How many more steps are needed? I hear about manifestations every now and then. It would had been more presice to add the other rotten apples to the march but giving more importance to march agaisnt the Farcs but not letting out the other colombian nightmares.
