lina05...lover of colombia, despot, or problem child

I’m not exactly sure why or more specifically how to address this post.
It appears to me that since you use the word with such frequency addressing me and others that we should examine it…nay, we should apply it to you, since it so frequently leaves your mouth.

Since your original post “IN YOUR TRAVELS TO COLOMBIA, DON’T FORGET TO… I have been taken by your zeal…at least in the beginning…to support honorable charitable activities in Colombia. Too, I, like other posters on that thread were taken by your attacks on others who felt you were a bit demagogic in your chastisement of those who didn’t agree with you. In fact, you were more than that, you were just plain insulting.

At first, I thought you to be suffering overzealousness…however, after a number of PM messages from you and hearing of PM’s to others, I realize there’s possibly not one gram or true devotion/zealousness in your posts. Rather, that the word you use so frequently to describe others, DESPOT, is just a synonym for you, yourself. You have zero tolerance for the observations/feelings/experiences of others…especially when they do not reflect you and yours.

Now, after all these hateful posts from you I feel certain that your dominating posture in how and what other’s should do, is really a statement in what you, in reality, DON’T DO.

If you even read the comments on your thread by me and others you would realize that you are so far off base in your retorts, as to be a demonstration of egotistical blindness.

Why don’t you stop for one constructive minute and go back to the beginning and read—really read—your original post, then all the comments on it. If you really read it, you’ll discover many things. First might be that you would do well to practice what you preach. Secondly, that opinions are changed by example, not by belittlement, insult and cooersion. And finally, that you have done, by these attacks, precious little—more specifically nothing—to aid or advance the charitable activities you pretend to support. On the contrary, you have done harm to them.

I have no axe to grind with you nor insult to levy against you. Rather, I would have you stop for a moment and see if you are achieving what you claim to want to achieve….that being, help for the downtrodden, dispossessed and needy of Colombia. And, if not, what can you do to change that. Because if it is not really your attention to help these unfortunates, why do you speak and present yourself in such a way; intolerant, insulting, angry, etc?

For your information, as it appears you have difficulty extracting meaning in posts, I have never written about my drunken escapades, screwing women, etc. About my own private distractions, yes. But anything that was at the expense of Colombia or Colombians, never. Period. Quite simply, with no defense of myself, it’s not my style.

You’re not interested in my, or for that matter, anybody else’s opinions, but you should be. In might add a measure of constructiveness to your posts and activities. As it is now, only destructiveness and discord have resulted thus far. Changing all that is in your hands. Advantage that.

Peace,

DWM

“In your travels to Colombia, don’t forget to….

poor despots but happy despots....
I am more colombian, than you'll ever be, and no "I wont go back to my country" if that's the line you are trying to feed me, you last few posters put this site to shame if you think you gringos are the only ones with opinions about "foreigners", you get on this site and want only to express your f..g gringo ways, thoughts, views etc. Well, like it or not it's for Colombians also to express our ways, thoughts, views etc.
What you say below is a bunch of crap, oh excuse me did I hit a soft spot foreigner? Do you have to always play the despot anywheres you go? even on this site because it happens to have been made up in North America, then watch out if anybody else like a colombian says or expreses their opinions other than what you want to hear.
Go take a hike, get drunk, lay women down there, I don't give a shit what you do, just like you don't have to answer to my post on "charity" and "humanity", If you don't have anything good to say then
don't say it. Go on to the posts of war and hate and comment on those. Quit blowing my post out of proportion and that goes for your gringo buddies too.
Let those people express what they've lived, suffered or experienced with dignity and go do your partying bs posts with someone elses, there's plenty of posts why do you waste your time with my so called "meaningless" post!
Go be your despot way in plenty of other posts on this site, get a live and same with your buddies...........

Nice. This is why turning off the PM feature is a prudent thing to do. At least then they have to go public with their flaming. Kerry and lina05 - now there's a couple!

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Perhaps one of those thin skinned folks who has turned off their PM can answer this. Is it possible for you to PM another member? If so I don't think this is really fair, if one chooses to turn off their PM that is one thing, but they should not be able to participate in sending PMs either.

Hey dwmte I got one as well, she must have a pretty boring pathetic life if to sit there and send these PMs.

I think that you can still send PMs but personally I couldn't care less if I can PM or not. Having PM activated is like posting a sign, "Please abuse me!". No thanks.

UTC that is your view, but up to yet I have only received pleasant PMs, even from Lina, go figure. I guess I must have one of those pleasant online personas that everyone loves. ja ja

I wouldn't dream of sending a nasty PM and so far people have treated me the same way. Of course now that I've said that all the kooks will start PMing me.

I received my first nasty PM from lina (actually three of them from her). She doesn't like people that disagree with her. That is all I can think of. I know a lot of people like that. They act all nice and charitable, but turn into real a$$es when someone disagrees with them.

To be honest, I thought her sending me the nasty PM was quite funny. I can't imagine me turning off the PM feature. It can give me a good laugh and if I do not like what is written, I can just ignore it. Same as any of the public posts here.

Me again? On reflection I think this thread would be more suited here.

Up to a point I would have agreed that the lady was simply misunderstood. Perhaps some were reading her wrong? Sharp and quick to reprimand, definitely, but that was , or is, not necessarily such a bad thing.

The ladies language then became questionable at the very least. Personally I think she has a personal axe to grind.

I agree in principle with some of what she has said, but I would not get involved with the discussion as it would almost certainly invoke even greater outbursts from her, and indeed probably others.

(I am still waiting for my first hate mail by the way, I thought Kerry/etc/etc. would have obliged by now after I called him Mr Silly Billy?)

She sent me another nice little PM. I think I have a new friend. You know how kids sometimes do stupid things like pick on another person when they actually like that person? I think that is what lina is doing to me. She actually likes me but doesn't know how to say it. ;)

lina, dear lina.... believe me, it's not that i don't cherish your angry, profane, and confused PM's....i do. it's just that six or seven new ones in one day are more than my modest 'in box' can handle. too, especially when four of those are repeats. i know that your creative vitriol is capable of much greater abuse.

i'm not going to bother sharing your lovely thoughts with the rest of the family here as i feel/know that by now they are basically familiar with the contents. it's basically...same content, different day.

try to have a nice day and a nice life. what was it the teacher said? "to insult another person is like throwing a rock in the mud and splashing oneself." think about that.

I feel left out; I have to post here more often. jajajaja Hey Folks,

I feel left out , I have to post more often , eh. Lina05 seems to be full of hate for people that don't agree with her.

I for one do not believe that she should be lecturing people on how to help people in need with an attitude like that.
