Liceo Campestre experience

Your opinion?
What would you do, if
- you are lied by your employer from the beginning of your employment and you find it out late?
- you are lied by your co workers and taken advantage and you find it out late as well?
- you are betrayed by all of your associates, called mental and after you leave, they make you look like a criminal?
- you make friends outside of your employment(Doctors, businessmen, students, labourers...) and you are called insane?

I never asked to teach there. They found me and I refused at first, but they asked really nicely.
Well, I can, I could and I must over-ride my memories. Soon and in Pereira.
I have never experienced this anywhere around the world and as a medical professional I have seen things and pain one can hardly immagine.

Looks like you were mislead, and taken advantage of... Maybe you ran into some of the same people another poster here described with: "If you ask them the direction, they will tell you specifically the wrong direction: just to spite you..."

I believe, though, that every interaction requires 2 willing parties.

Get help You are not insane. You may, however, be sick. Don't be afraid or ashamed of your feelings and seek professional help . Now!

Get over it. Colombians are no different than anybody else in the world, just different ways of expressing it. You have to take the good with the bad and learn from the experience. If you didn't have good experiences in Colombia, I would say you didn't look hard enough. Not everybody lies, cheats , and steals in Colombia so it sounds like you didn't adopt very well to the culture. better luck next time if you return.

Toulavy,

I'm from Pereira and I really don't fully understand what you're saying... You've said that you were called insane, mental case, criminal and all that stuff (wow?!). So, why don't you tell us the whole story, what really happened? ...A very good friend of mine (American citizen living in Pereira) was offered a job there teaching english and I think he's supposed to start next month, so if you think there's something he has to know before hand, please lets let him know... All help is appreciated! Thanks!!!

shame on you!!! who ever you are???? Few days ago I was navigating thought the internet and I read about your Liceo Campestre experience. To tell you the truth I have a relative with a youngster studying there. To my understanding is one of the best schools in Pereira, and is holding one of the best bilingual statuses. I don’t understand what does this have to do with your personal life. My question is does your personal life has to do with the education with the children at L.C?? I don’t think so!!! What I know is that the teachers that work there and the administration staff (this is what my relative told me) are hard and dedicated working people; these people are bettering the futures of our next generation. If you were employed there it means you had these qualifications. Yes, I understand that in life we have bad moments where ever we had worked or in places we give our dedications, but if you talk bad where you worked, for who knows how long. Does this means you are talking bad about yourself. Few days ago the school had a competition on a Spelling Bee contest. The school is NOW holding the first place. Did you know that!!! So if you talk bad about the school and also the teachers that work there, why are they holding the firs place on educational rank? Be careful with the words that you mention explaining your personal experience (“PERSONAL”) because remember we are grown-ups, we have already chosen our lives; these children haven’t, and you are already forming a chaos talking about there school and the education that they are receiving. WHO DO YOU THINK THE BAD PERSON IS!!!!!!!!!

Think !!!!

Thank you very much for enchanting a few word of advice…

Get a new job Listen!! toulavy, whatever you are or Whoever you are? Get another job because teaching English is not your profession. Look how you write… I don’t understand you because you make no common sense. Maybe you should be a student not a teacher!!!!
