Rudecindo Cristancho es un hombre humilde, del campo que llegó a un pueblo cercano llamado Timbalí a conseguir trabajo. Tenía una esposa embarazada y otros dos hijos. Cuando llegó conoció a Candida, una prostituta que les dio posada. Rudecindo consiguió trabajo en una mina de carbón, allí conoció a los otros mineros y mantuvieron una muy buena amistad. Desde el primer momento el se sintió muy abusado pero no dijo nada porque al final de cuentas era mejor ganar poco y trabajar como animales que no ganar nada y morir de hambre. Los norteamericanos explotaban de los ignorantes mineros pero alguien tenía que hacer algo. Después Rudecindo se fue llenando de ira y la huelga fue una realidad. Al final salieron exitosos.

El último que me leí fue 'Paraíso Travel' de Jorge Franco sobre unos Colombianos que emigran ilegalmente a Nueva York y les toca comer de la que sabemos. Me gustó mucho, igual que la película que es buenísima!
