Does my fiancee Letter of Intent have to be written in Spanish then translating into English. Would it be ok for me to basically tell her what to write in English wihout having it translated. Since I will be in CTG in a few days what other forms are essentially besides the 325a and 129f that need to be filled out. What do I need translated or notarized.

Crazy4Cali says on Aug 3, 2005, 13:30: It's pretty simple the letter of intent doesn't need to say any more than:

ElCheAmericano says on Aug 3, 2005, 13:37: Sounds simple But we both have to write a letter of intent, correct? Other question as for as sending emails as proof of our relatiohship, is it ok if it's in spanish.

rjstuff says on Aug 3, 2005, 14:02: Yes, you both write a letter of intent and you do not need emails etc. at the fling of the petition - you only need to show proof of having met - using itinerary, pictures, copies of passport pages with entry/exit stamps. You will need the emails etc. at the time of the interview to show ongoing relationship - Spanish emails will be fine as far as I know (that means you comunicate in Spanish - means you know lots of Spanish). Good for you - I am learning and forgetting and relearning again and again.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 3, 2005, 14:08: Just keep this in mind; The USCIS operates in English. Anything you send them in a language other than English is going to have to be translated with a translator's certification. So whatever you send them, it's easier if it's in English. The embassy, on the other hand, operates in English or Spanish, so you can use Spanish language documents for them and they do not need to be translated. utopiacowboy says on Aug 3, 2005, 16:36: He was talking about the Letter of Intent that he is going to send off with his I-129F packet. Make sure she signs one that is in English. Later at the embassy, they can do everything in Spanish if they want. ElCheAmericano says on Aug 3, 2005, 18:42: Thanks Alot Guys I appreciate all the info. Another question or thing that confuses me is the amount of copies of the G325 and I129f do I need. I read that four copies need to signed which confuses me because in the package the UCSIC sent me they gave me 2 copies of each I believe(one for me, one for her I assume). But there are copies underneath the original. So do I need to sign the copies underneath also or do I just sign the original and let them divide the copies. I hope I make sense.

Dan says on Aug 3, 2005, 19:06: ElCheAmericano One copy is four (4) sheets. They all must have original signatures. Each person needs to sign one complete copy. God Bless America! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Crazy4Cali says on Aug 3, 2005, 20:05: Counting... My I-129F application package included (in order):
I had my fiance send me her G-325A (all four pages signed), letter of intent (signed) and "passport style" photos which I included with my documents in the package. If you can get those documents signed while you're down there you'll save $30 or $40 in postage. All-in-all, I think I had about 40 pages in my package and I got about half of them back at the embassy interview.

rjstuff says on Aug 4, 2005, 07:33: Crazy is very thorough Nice list crazy! I went for the minimum file and had about 16 pages (no ongoing relationship support is needed nor was submitted - just a copy of my itinerary and 2 photos of us together!) Also the FC029 statement is not needed but can be sent - I didn't - considering the cover letter provides that (you can write which document is an original and which one is a copy next to it).

ElCheAmericano says on Aug 4, 2005, 08:05: Thats some crazy list Crazy I don't think I will be writing 12 pages on how we meet but the your list in general is very helpfull. Another question I have is if my novia has never worked, under occupation do I just write unemployed. And as far as her name goes do I include her mother and father last name and in what order.

Crazy4Cali says on Aug 4, 2005, 08:46: the 10 pages of how we met... and the 12 pages of "proof" wasn't a romance novel, rather it was mostly photocopies of airline tickets, hotel receipts showing both names, passport stamps showing entry and exit dates, etc. I think I might have written a short (4 paragraph) summary of the events leading up to and including our meeting, but the vast majority of those pages was simply photocopies.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 4, 2005, 09:11: There wasn't any romance? My wife had her AOS interview and as soon as I told the woman that I had learned Spanish so I could communicate with her, the woman interviewer melted. No more questions, no nothing - approved! Crazy4Cali says on Aug 4, 2005, 09:22: That's not quite what I said.. I just said I didn't submit a romance novel with my application, not that I couldn't have written one.

The girl at Tennessee vital statistics nearly fell all over herself hand cI used the "romance" angle to my full advantage at every juncture arrying my birth certificate to the office of the secretary of state to have it apostilled. She then hand delivered it to FedEx for me. I had my fresh birth apostilled in hand in Louisiana in less than 24 hours. "cook some rice!" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
