The topic of this week is about the SECOND WEDDING.

Colombia civil code in its article 169 specifies a special obligation for the person who wants to marry again.

The situation occurs when a man or woman has children of previous marriage under his or her custody and desire to tie the knot again. The law requires the person to go to a court and ask the judge for a special permission. This is called “Solemn Inventory�.

The judge named a special agent and he has to do an inventory of the property of the kids. This needs to be done even though the children don’t have any goods. In case, the person don’t do it, the marriage will be annullable and the court will imposed a sanction.

This procedure is only for a person who has youngster under 18 years old.
