Hi all,
I bought a ticket that goes to Bogotá, stops 12 hours then goes on to Cali. Can I just walk out at Bogotá, stay in Bogotá, then when the returning flight comes back a month later, board that flight at Bogotá? Basically, throw out one leg of the journey to Cali.
Thanks.

Gator says on May 17, 2008, 14:37: You need to check with your carrier to determine if a "stopover"is authorized. If it is and a stopover is allowed you are good to go. One caveat-must be the same airline but call first. "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

lampltr says on May 18, 2008, 17:05: All airline data systems are interlinked. I took a flight from there in mid January with a stop over in Barranquilla then a 12 hour layover in NYC. Avianca made a mistake and did not enter in their data base that I was on the flight...After checking in (This where I learned about the 2 hour advance for ck-in) with the Delta counter for my flight into Rome, it took (Happily) a very talented floor supervisor to intervene with Delta HQS and Avianca HQS to get all this straightened out and verification I was on the flight (Even with stubs), & with priority line cutting with security and a call-in to the gate, I had 2 minutes to spare....Get everything in writing from the airlines first if you try to do this...todays flying is much different.

Mr. Hollywood says on May 19, 2008, 13:00: They would probably never figure it out if you stepped off a flight at Bogota instead of continuing on to Cali. But you would definitely NEVER be allowed to board in Bogota after missing boarding in Cali for the return.
