Learning English

Does anyone have a good suggestion for learning english. My wife is taking her english course in the USA but she really wants to work on her pronunciation and vocabulary. She wants to study on the computer on top of her current course. I have been looking around online but was curious what suggestions some of you may have. She has some fluency (Intermediate) her pronunciation is poor and she really needs to expand her vocabulary. Any ideas?

practice practice practice I learned on my own, never went to to English school...just practicing, singing along songs in English, watching English TV with closed captioning, it helped me a lot. Good luck !

try immersion trips if you speak english as well work with her.. sometimes we try to be good at ESL but spend the day listening to latin music, TV and Newspapers,, etc cahnge all of the above for english

So schedule **** continous and sistematic*** immersion trips where she will find herself surrounded by an anglo-speaking community or athmosphere and let her alone developing increasingly survival language technics, she'll improve listening and therefore..pronunciation.

Get a job... It boosted my wifes learning rate 1,000 percent. I explained to her to look upon it as getting paid to learn English. She will get exposed to "real" language and vocabulary that way. It should be a job interfacing with people.

Closed captioned is a great way to learn English and Spanish. I bought a lot of DVD's and use them and it really helped to pronounce the words better for my wife. She also goes to school at night to better understand English proper but the songs, movies, etc; are a good way to learn

Lpdiver and Sonny, yes and yes.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.
