I know it is a tough time to find lodging in Cartagena, but I hope to find an apartment or something for two weeks. It is ok if it is close to Cartagena and I do know a family there that I will be visiting...any thoughts are appreciated. I am flying out Jan 1 and will return to the U.S on the 15th of Jan. Thanks in advance.

keithlucero says on Dec 29, 2007, 10:02: Thanks for the quick response. Bartolo, I have not called Javier yet...but I will today. tomtom, good idea. I am going to visit a girl I have meet on foreignwomen.com and she is from Cartagena, but has worked in Barranquilla as a vet for the Zoo. Her grande family lives in Cartagena. Because I have never met her in person...I am leaving all options open. I may venture to Baran or Santa Marta....she was there with family yesterday...to get away from Cartagena. She has suggested that we travel around the country...prob to avoid all of the tourist action...but I have to meet her Colombian family...of course.

bartolo_colon says on Dec 29, 2007, 14:11: Have her find a place for you. And actually now that I think about it, even during the holidays and festivals there are plenty of places to stay around the city. Here is another number if you dont get through on the others. Hey, careful, man, there's a beverage here! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

keithlucero says on Dec 30, 2007, 12:59: She has found an apartment for 7 days. It will cost $125 per night. She said it was very difficult to find an apartment this morning. It looks like you were on target TomTom...

tomtom33 says on Dec 31, 2007, 02:08: That may be too much, Bart. But you can't get much of anything for Jan. 1 for much less. Of course 6 to 8 per room in a hostel with shared bathroom will cost less.
