OK- I know I should have checked this out before the day before I needed the info, But....
Anyone know:
Do Notarios perform marriages on Sat. or Sun., and is Friday, November 11 any kind of holiday that would prevent a marriage from being performed?
I go to Chicago tomorrow for my Poder Especial(see why I said last minute? I actually did not know I needed an exact date until this morning).
Thanks,
Maureen

World Citizen says on Sep 12, 2005, 12:58: Notarias I'm not sure what you are asking for. Some notaries (at least in Bogota) do open on Saturday. Life is not what one lived, but rather what one remembers, and how it is remembered to tell the tale. (Gabriel Garcia Marquez) 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Gator says on Sep 12, 2005, 14:43: Please Remember.... Colombian notaries are not at all like the ones in the USA. A VERY important position and their services are required to complete many official transactions. THEY ARE USUALLY VERY BUSY AND VERY CROWDED. colombiabuzz says on Sep 12, 2005, 16:38: Notario You can actually hire your Notario to conduct a private ceremony in any place you choose, you can call and set it up with them directly. Of course you pay for that service but it is not much and the benefits are HUGE. It can take place where you are having your reception, if you are having one; it can happen after hours and on a weekend. Very handy. If you have any other questions PM me.

utopiacowboy says on Sep 12, 2005, 16:44: That depends on the notaria. They are independent beings and do exactly what they want to do. Some will and some won't, neither for love nor money. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

2retirensa says on Sep 12, 2005, 18:38: Thanks to all of you I did find out the poder especial sample I had was just that- a sample! I can leave out the exact date even though it was on the sample someone sent me. You are all to kind for your prompt replies, and PM.
