La princesa mafiosa

We hit a couple of New Year's Eve parties the other night and one of them was hosted by a guy who is a seafood dealer. Incredible array of fish and seafood including caviar. I had never tasted caviar but my wife told me that she has eaten it several times. Back in the day when she was young, a friend of hers was married to a mafiosi and she used to go to parties with them where caviar (and other things!) were common. It's a shame she doesn't post - she's got a million stories. One of the guy's friends was extremely interested in her and pursued her for a while but she is a straight arrow and wasn't interested. This was back before her father got killed by Escobar's gang. Later when she helped her mother run the restaurant in the Monteria airport, she had another Mafiosi chief who used to like to eat there interested in her as well. So now I've been calling her my little caviar-eating Mafia Princess. Colombia and the Colombians. What a world!

Actually she was munching on nachos dipped in caviar.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

I can imagine the stories she has. when I used to hang around the mafis in NY and Santa Marta, all sorts of things happened. Very extravagent people. Most were dirt poor that had no idea how to spend money. I stopped telling what happended to the gringo I knew because I would sound like I was making stuff up.
