La Pintada near Medellin

It Depends On You Sits on the edge of the Cauca River. Big attraction, to some but not me, is the rock formations called rocosas (stacks. We stayed at the Hosteria Los Farallones. Lots of small hostels in the area as well as some fincas that have been turned into bed and breakfast type places. Not a big city-I would guess 5000/6000 people. Quiet place unless you go with friends.

It's only about 80 km(50 miles) out of Medellin so it should not take 4 hours. One you get over the Alto de Minas it's all down hill from there (no pun intended). Big get-away spot for the people from Medellin.

If I was planning to invest four hours in travel time I would think of the Zona Cafetera (coffee zone) Parque Nacional Natural de los Nevados (Nevado de Ruiz is about 16,000 plus feet), thermal baths out side of Armenia. This is, IMHO, one of the most beautiful areas of Colombia.
