As far as recommending good salsa bands-I am sure you will get plenty of feedback here, so starting with Colombian groups, try Fruko Y Sus Tesos and Joe Arroyo.

You might drop around to this thread and add some ideas/suggestions of your own (the more the merrier).

Maybe if I beg we can have the headline of that thread changed so it adds (.... in the Cali / Medellin area"). Not that I've ruled other places out due to the "smart" way things is arranged with the routes of the airlines ;-)
