heh richard

when will you be back up there.. i plan on passing by in two weeks, third visit to Mompox. got to love Mompox. I´ll go through Magangue to get there but was thinking of leaving through El Banco and Bucaramanga.. How long would it take me to get from Mompox to Bucaramanga.. I did the trip six years ago but can´t remember how long it took. Any chance of buying the Luna de Mompox.. Love that place. Well let me know when you will be around in Mompox and ill pop in, cheers, kelvin

wow congratulations... mompox is a beautiful place on a par with villa-de-leyva and santa-fe de antioquia, without the hoards of tourists. best of luck.

Kelvin, I am out of the country right now but will be back in Bogota on the 23rd of May and then heading on from there a few days later to Mompos most likely.

From Bucaramanga you can catch the Unitransco bus which takes 6 hours to get to El Banco and then you know it, the 2 - 2.5 hour 4x4 trip from there to Mompos. Let me know when you are thinking of coming.

If you plan to come in June I'll definitely be there.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to mompox from Cartegena AND Barranquilla?

Thank you

I can't tell you exactly how long from Barranquilla...but from Cartagena if you catch an early bus to Magangue and then the motorise canoe/taxi combo to Mompos then you can can get to Mompos in 5-6 hours.
