Kurakaku

One thing that always sticks in my mind in those long evenings on the veranda is the rather distinctive warbling sound one of the birds makes. Everyone calls it the Kurakaku (sp?) because of the noise but I was wondering if anyone knew what the proper name of the bird was?

The noise of the night can be so enchanting, the kurakaku, the crickets song, the frogs in the undergrowth, the occasional dog bark, and very distant the sound of music, someone somewhere listens to cumbia 24/7.
