rhydewithdis says on Mar 30, 2008, 13:36: I actually think Kanye is a great artist. He released one of my Top 5 favourite albums of 2007. They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

rhydewithdis says on Mar 30, 2008, 19:12: at Markanthony, your ignorance is clearly unparalleled. Art is presented in many forms. Just because you don't appreciate a particular form of art, doesn't mean that Kanye is any less talented as an "artist" in the art form he practices. They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Saltador says on Mar 30, 2008, 19:40: Damn do I gotta agree with Mark Anthony. I think Kanye sucks donkey, and is a great example of what is wrong with the music industry today. We get told by the record companies who the next superstar is, and we're supposed to just fall in line and worship these talentless a-holes.

island girl says on Mar 30, 2008, 19:42: ummm so what was Kanye doing in Medellin? Concert? Cultural tour? Or was he not there and some fan/entourage member made it down and posted pics on his blog?

romy says on Mar 30, 2008, 22:33: I don't know what you guys like dancing to at clubs then, because Kanye is up there. Even though I dance to just about anything. I think that's what all that 'noise' is about, having a good time and letting it take over your body. 'Cutlure' is obviously diverse.

|
Saltador says on Mar 31, 2008, 04:18: I would guess that what you are dancing to in the clubs are "remixes" of Kanye, i.e. the work of producers, etc that has nothing to do with Kanye or his "talent". They could do that with anybody. If you've ever seen him live, you'd understand that the emperor has no clothes.

rhydewithdis says on Mar 31, 2008, 06:48: Kanye wasn't in Medellin. That page is his personal blog, and he will post random things he finds interesting that come his way. I'm guessing someone sent him those pictures and he wanted to share with his readers. That's a big up to Medellin. ColombianoGringo says on Mar 31, 2008, 09:16: He should be shot for talking all over the Police's live performance of "Message in a Bottle" at the Live Earth concert.Come to think of it, Stink should be shot as well for letting him onstage. Shouting "yeah" a bunch of times over a classic song doesn't qualify as art. He wasn't even in sync with the song. He ruined the performance with his off beat hollering. Every song I've heard of his sounded like crap to me. Of course, I generally despise most rap "music". It was also pretty funny to see him start crying and trying to play the race card when he didn't win an MTV award.

Brians says on Mar 31, 2008, 13:09: I actually like Kanye and fun. People should not judge people for what music they like. I listen to everything and like a lot of different types. I think the only stuff I don't enjoy is techno and it just so happens to be my wife's favorite.

ColombianoGringo says on Mar 31, 2008, 13:21: He is actually a client of ours. Our company does all his tour and CD marketing. I remember the first time I saw one of this douchebag's commercials in our production system. I was doing some testing of some new code in the system and happened upon his record. I thought the name was misspelled and that it was supposed to say "Kayne". Out of curiosity, I clicked on the commercial preview and immediately disliked his "music". It wasn't until much later that I started to see him on TV and really learned to dislike him. We'll still take his money though.

rhydewithdis says on Mar 31, 2008, 13:59: Honestly, I fully understand all of this negativity towards Kanye as a person. He presents himself as arrogant, whiny and derisive. If you don't like hip-hop music, then why even both commenting on the music and saying his music sucks if you have no idea about the music in the first place? That makes no sense to me. They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Brians says on Apr 1, 2008, 07:29: Markanthony, Colombiangringo, Simon all sound like my parents when I was younger. I too am 41 and my favorite groups are from 70s and 80s but I listen to everything. Saying it is the it is a dumning of American Culture is silly. It is music and a freedom of expression. I like it all ex. techno. Music is music and because someone doesn't like it means nothing. Kayne has sold a lot of Cds so some people like it (myself included although only a few songs).
