I have been remiss in responding to the help that was given for my last question...the short of it is that my husband didn't get is tourist visa to the US, unfortunately. Thanks to all who helped with those questions....
Now there is a new situation, and new questions -
My husband and I are now eagerly awaiting the final stages of him getting his K3. Packet 3 has been returned to the embassy, and it looks like, from what I've read from people on this site, that he shouldn't have to wait more than a week or two for Packet 4. Is this correct?
I also see other people who are at the same point in the process. What is the web address for looking up embassy interview appointment related information?
And my last question - once the K3 is granted, how much time is given to the recipient to leave Colombia? Two weeks? One month?
Many thanks, again, for all the answers and support...

alcpa says on Mar 4, 2006, 03:18: K3 Visa We are a little ahead of you. We recieved the packet 3 about a month ago and filed the info 2 weeks ago. Our interview is scheduled for March 30. My understanding is that if all goes well, the visa can be picked up the next business day after 4:30 in the afternoon. The Department of State has a website at www.state.gov. If you follow the links to the embassies and the one in Bogota, there is a PDF file that you can bring up on the left hand side of the screen that is called scheduled appointmants. They update it once per month at the end of the month. Of course, my wife's big question is what to wear to the interview!! I told her any business attire would be fine. I guess that if all she is worrying about is her clothes, we should be fine. Good luck to you!!

utopiacowboy says on Mar 4, 2006, 15:24: K-3s also have 6 months within which to use the visa. Of course the K-3 is a multiple entry visa so you can use it to enter the US many times within its two year validity. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

alexyy9 says on Mar 5, 2006, 12:35: sjt2250 My husband brought his paperwork to the embassy himself...apparently they accept it in person for a brief period of time in the afternoons, around 12:45pm. But I don't have a specific answer to your question...
