I've decided to do the K-1 application myself, since many people here have experience with visas i hope that everyone can help me better understand the forms. also this might possibly help others since alot of our questions revolve around applying for and getting a visa for our "pareja"
1. the initial I-129F application requires what forms?
I-129F
G-325A
FC-029
2. what does my fiance need to complete? and does it need to be translated
into spanish i.e. G-325A, Fiance letter of Intent, FC-029
3. what is meant by ADIT photo? what is an ADIT?
I have other questions but these are the ones i need answered to begin the
application process, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
also, if anyone has other information that will help me with the application process it will be greatly appreciated. i have visited the visajourney.com site but it doesn't clarify the specifics as listed above.
i love colombia...junior

utopiacowboy says on Aug 21, 2004, 17:49: The only thing I did different for my wife's K-3 petition was I used both her names and hyphenated them. All her documents, including our marriage certificate, show both last names and I was afraid if I only used her father's last name we would have problems because the names do not match. I would think that explaining the situation as Aaron did would work as well. utopiacowboy says on Aug 22, 2004, 10:20: Junior, the K-1 (and K-3) visas require the I-134 which does need to be notarized. They are not needed until she goes to the interview in Bogota - you also need the supporting documents with them: letter from your bank, letter from your employer, three years of tax returns and W-2s. About the G-325A - make sure that you sign the forms in blue ink and that all 4 copies are originals - if they think you have submitted one original and made 3 copies, you may have problems. I have heard of other couples having problems with the G325A because the USCIS thought they were not 4 originals. Dan says on Aug 24, 2004, 13:06: Paperwork Many of the forms are in Adobe so they cant be saved. One thing I did with a few of the forms were to print out blank copies of the pages that needed to be filled and scan them into my computer into a Jpeg format so now I can fill in the info I need and save it so that I can print it out later on. A heck of a lot better than my hand writing. Should work out fine when it's all printed and submitted. Right now, I'm waiting for my birth certificate to get back from getting the Apotille and still waiting for my parents to sign the singleness certificate (still waiting after 3 weeks). utopiacowboy says on Aug 30, 2004, 14:16: I am not sure you are helping him with your statements. They will never give him a visa if they think he is going to stay here and work. The whole idea is to be a tourist - go to Disneyworld and then go home. junior says on Aug 30, 2004, 14:42: return address... spoke with an immigration service to get some guidance, the lady told me that i should put my address on the 129F instead of my fiancee because they tend to get lost or never reach their destination..how strange...i remember alot of people stating that sometimes they had to go to the embassy in bogota to get their appropriate packet...does this sound like good advice? she states that she would need to help my fiance with the forms anyway and it would insure that the forms get to the right place in time and without complications.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 30, 2004, 15:36: Junior, the problem, if there is any, is not going to be with getting your K-1 petition approved by the USCIS service center. That should be fairly routine. The scrutiny is going to come when your fiance actually applies for a visa at the embassy - that's when it gets hard-core.
