K-1 Timeline, Part 2

Hi All,
Well when I sent out my K-1 to Vermont I thought it might take 16 weeks. A lot of people thought I was crazy. Here is my update:
Vermont receives March 23rd
Vermont approves April 1st
National Visa Center receives April 6th
Sent to Bogota April 8th (today)

Now here is my question. I can't have her or relative pick up Packet 3 at embassy as she has no family there. I have an actual copy of a Colombian Packet 3 recieved by someone else this week. They emailed it to me. Very generic with forms etc.. I assume that the embassy gets our petition early next week (I think they send DHL). Can I have my fiancee fax in the DS-230 and checklist from the Packet 3 we have next Saturday? I would assume embassy has petition by then and we want to make the cutoff for May interviews. The cutoff for getting a May interview is the 20th I have heard. If we miss this then we are not getting an interview till June. Also if I get May interview I think I will break record times and have her K-1 visa in a total tie of 8-10 weeks. We want to have a July 4th wedding.

I didn't think it was unrealistic at all given the fact that you're dealing with the Vermont Service Center. There have been similar cases in the past with them that went this quickly. I don't see why you couldn't fax in the other forms. The worst that can happen is it doesn't work.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Hey...No Fair The California Service Center received my petition for my WIFE on March 23rd too, but I haven't received anything other than a receipt indicating that they received it. Anyway, Vermont and California are both approving fiance and spousal petitions quickly so hopefully I'll get mine approved soon. Congratulations and good luck.

My wife was residing in Aruba at when our packet was sent. It never arrived...ever. After a month I telephoned the embassy in Bogota and they faxed the packet to me and I faxed it to her. We also had a second packet sent to her sisters house in Medellin.

Good luck dealing with the consulate! They only take calls on Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. AS I recall. What ever you do don't ask for the name of the person helping you, as they will hang up on you and you probably won't get through again until the next Tuesday.

E-mails take about six weeks to turn around.

Bueno Suerte,
