K-1 Submission Package

Hi Everyone,
I’ll be filing the K-1 petition for my Colombian fiancée in approximately one month when I return from Barranquilla. I have read the instructions and as far as I can tell, this is what I need to include:

1) Completed and signed I-129F
2) 4 copies for each of us of G-325A, each copy signed
3) Copy of my divorce decree
4) Copy of my birth certificate
5) Statements of intent to marry within 90 days of admission
6) Proof of having met within the last two years
7) One color passport style photo of each of us taken within 30 days of submission
8) Processing fee

Can anyone think of anything that I am over-looking? I’m trying to keep the petition package concise but at the same time accurate and adequate. Any help would be appreciated.

Because there were so many pages, I separated the sections with tabs.
If you haven't been married or divorced, you can exclude those documents. My packet is now sitting in the embassy waiting for us, so whatever I've done so far has seemed to work. YMMV, of course.

Thanx For The Pointers Thanx for the pointers, guys. Crazy4, I was wondering.....do you think the previous marriage certificate is necessary? All I have is a notarized copy of the divorce decree.

I dunno... I just wanted to send a complete documentation trail.
They didn't ask for one in the application form, but I figured it was better to err on the side of being TOO complete then less and raising a question. I figured that since the question was asked on the biography (G-325A), it couldn't hurt to back up the data with whatever documentation I could provide.

I also double-checked all the information, especially dates and places, on all the forms to make sure it was both accurate and consistent and in agreement on all forms. I don't know about the DHS people, but that's one of those details that people who look at forms for a living like to key in on (and one of those things I'm not very good at!)

Getting a copy of the marriage certificate just required sending a letter and $3.50 to the county clerk and I had it the next week.

NOT NEEDED YOU JUST NEED THE DIVORCE PAPERS. MORE INFO, I JUST GOT MY LADY APPROVED AND WE JUST CAME HOME TO THE US. I THOUGHT THE INTERVIEW WOULD BE A OFFICE DESK SIT DOWN TYPE.. WRONG, AT THE WINDOW AT THE EMBASSY OVER THE PHONE.. THEY ASKED US THINGS LIKE WHERE WAS I BORN? WHAT WERE MY AND HER HOBBIES, MY FATHERS NAME, HER MOTHERS NAME. COULD I TELL HER MY GIRLS SISTERS KIDS NAMES? A BUNCH OF BULL QUETIONS. BE READY

Embassy Idiots Girl's sister's kid's names??? My girl has a whole handfull of sisters!!! I don't even know all of their names. I guess I'll just answer questions like that by saying, "No, I don't know the names of every single person in her family nor do I know the names of every single person in my family." Most of our conversations have been about our plans for the future and about getting all the paperwork together. And of course, I call her everyday to ask how she is doing and to tell her that I love her. Do these embassy idiots really think that I would spend my 10 minute call that I make everyday on frivolous subjects like whether her family has a dog???
