Juanes on Austin City Limits Tonight

It may be a repeat, but I though it was worth mentioning. What is this style of his anyways? Sounds like Colombian pop if there is such a thing. I heard he started out hard rockin, but I guess the Colombian market is less full of "rockers" so he had to find a new sound. By the looks of all the teenage girls in the audience, he appears to be a "Justin Timberlake" of sorts. Thoughts?

Let's run through this again. You don't know who Juanes is?

It is a repeat but it is worth watching. Yes in his younger days he was really into metal. He was in a rock group Ekymosis which were pretty good.

I think he changed his style because he grew up. He explains it a little in the interview at the end of the austin city limits show. I don't think he makes his music for the market because there is definatly a market for rockers in the colombia and throughout latin america for that matter. He defiantly had plenty of chances to sell out or do english cross overs in usa but he has stayed tru to his music and langage. His spanish music is popular all over the world.

I would not compare him to justin timberlake though .... Justin timberlake doesnt sing about war and life like Juanes does.
