Guitar tabs are a way of reading music. Both people that do and don't read music use them. They literally tell you what fret/string to put your finger(s) on etc... using numbers and letters. Very cool for people that can pick up music by ear too. Check out that site it will give you an idea of what I mean. I can't really explain it better than that.

young lady... i appreciate that. i used to play lute...still play guitar, when there's one around. mine, one i bought many years ago in maranilla, had a massive coronary when if fell off the top of a display case and 'ate' the floor, 6+ feet away.

but it would be nice to identify particular 'frettings' i do/know as numeric positions.

Tab is short for tablature and since I can't read music and often don't know which particular voicing an artist is using, the tab just says hey put your fingers here, here and here. For tabs posted on the internet, quality varies wildly, but sometimes you find a really good one.

I dont like the rhythm that much but juanes comes up with good melodies n lyrics he has good harmony. hes a good songwriter. Some comments about the comments made.... Dj doesnt get remixes from somebody else....he gets the vinyls and remixes the song himself right there in the club. lol. and he's not mixing styles with classical....its just slightly spanish on the electric guitar. gives it a different sound.
