I'm planning my first trip to Colombia this month to visit my girlfriend in Bogota and I plan on moving there after I finish my graduate degree in December. What is the general environment like in Bogota right now for jobs? Difficult, impossible??? Any info?

Does anyone have any idea on the environment for these types of jobs working for aid agencies, city governments, etc.? We've been looking but getting suggestions from other sources is always helpful

I have two cousins from Bogota with a Master's degree in Urban Planning who have been out of work for more than a year. They are working odd jobsm nothing related to what they studied and are very frustrated with the situation. What most foreigners do in Colombia is work as teachers, but the pay is not very good. Unless you are sent by an USA company to work in Bogota, it is hard for a foreigner to find work. We wanted to move back there last year but changed our minds because of that reality. Do a lot of research before moving. You may have to sacrifice your profession. Good luck! Mariángela 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
