Job Openings in Medellin

What do English speaking Colombians expect for a starting salary? My company is about to start looking for two bilingual people to work in an administrative position in a new hotel project we are starting in Medellin. I have been assigned the responsibility to hire these individuals. What should I expect to pay someone? We will provide training so job specific experience is not required. Just the ability to speak both English and Spanish while learning as they go. A background in tourism or hotel work would probably be beneficial but really any type of administrative work experience would suffice for the right person.

Interested!!!!! Adamk I recently moved to Medellin, In the states I worked for a major US airline for some years and also for a major Hotel chain. My background is travel/hospitality and tourism. I would love to get some more information on the project you are embarking on. I also know another person here who has the same background as myself and speaks fluently both languages. In regards to salary, I believe a 2,000,000/mo salary is adequate but it depends largely on the type of position and responsibilities. If its a front desk position then probably a little less than that. If you give me the full Opportunity description then I can contact some friends of mine in the industry here and give you the salary range. Also would like to send you my resume for review.

Morphus yet we meet again. I always end up with the derilicts here in Armenia. I met someone similar who is parking cars in the street. He went to LA when he was a little kid. He's now 24 or so with three kids still there since he was deported, and it was after arms charges, so he ain't going back. He's trying to be my buddy so I stay away from his "work area". Met another one similar a month later. Hope these guys don't get together here and form their own gang.
