Job In Bogota

I need a little help around the office from a native english speaker. Must be computer literate. Job includes corresponging via email in English as well as other web based tasks. Hence the need for a native speaker. This pays a Colombian wage, you will not get rich, but it should pay your Zona Rosa/Unicentro bills (provide you are not Liz Taylor or Micheal Jackson).

Post an email address here, and we will respond.

Thanks!

interesting.. but not much details there for me. If only I didn't already have a job, I'd move to Colombia fast.

If it is truly web based I can do it from my apartment...no?

From Apartment I did not say the whole job is web based, just some of the tasks are. In theory some parts probably could be done from your apartment, and that could be a big help to me.

But anybody who puts "Caveat Emptor" in their own response, is probably not someone I'd want to hire. Don't need any smartasses, just some good honest work.

PC the oldgringo wouldn't touch a computer job
with a 50 foot pole,....but...
surely,.. Lionheart is your man....he can cook.
ask him to poach a salmon, then you won't have
to endure the constant dilemma of what's for lunch in bogota.

Caveat Emptor Would; I think, be very approbos in this instance. You are advertising in COLOMBIA for a worker. Seriously I was curious if it could be done on a telecommuting basis. I do have a fair amount of spare time and a home office. I telecommute for my job and the idea of developing a web based form of employment where by I could reside in Colombia or another country for that matter and earn a living intrigues me to no small amount.

Chao,

Antony

Still signing Caveat Emptor...it is a joke from another thread BTW.

Cheddar Cheese Oldgringo, I found cheddar cheese, in two places. You said if I found it, I get a prize. I found it twice, so you owe me two beers.

You can get it at Exito, this one is not that good. Basically taco grade, but you can get a pretty good sharp one at Carrefour. Definitely gourmet quality!

Also found good Thai food too. Still dyin' for that slice of good NY Style Pizza though. Somebody suggested I try Karens. I did, gotta tell ya, the only worse pizza I ever had in my entire life was in my high school cafeteria. Sad to say, so far Dominoes's still holds the title here. Guess that ain't sayin' too much.

stuff from Exitos, for the peanut gallery.

Pizza in Bogota In a PM conversation LaloG was talking to me about bread dough and cheesecake in Bogota. He said that due to the higher altitude and different humidity the dough mix, especially the yeast content must be different. Since Chicago-style pizza is deep-dish, the dough must be able to rise well. NY-style uses thinner dough, but also depends on yeast for a bit of rise and flexibility. I doubt any pizza bakers in Bogota would be willing to got through the experimentation of finding out how to adapt the dough and rising process to Bogota.

Just an idea, why don't y'all in Bogota get together with LaloG to create the ultimate Colombian pizza? He knows his dough. I could imagine Colombian specific toppings ... but the dough/crust must be good!

Good idea The dough is critical, but for cryin' out loud, don't neglect the sauce, either! You gotta have good tomato sauce, and plenty of it. I haven't tried that Jeno's Pizza stuff, but it sure looks awful - all cheese and no sauce.

I'll volunteer to taste-test!

the secret ingredient chuckles ... we all know about the secret ingredients, and we won't tell ...

ok, no patience, no time for the dough, no wonder it sucks. I remember the altitude and humidity issues of yeast mainly because of bread. If you ever had German bread, you know what I mean. I have no clue how to call it, but the best breads use "Natursauerteig" (natural sour dough) which is extremely touchy.

Crust and bread... It is totally different, I was in the process of ordering a pizza, now imnot so sure, as for the german bread, Lionheart youre totally right, its completely different. You still can get quite decent bread in Pan Factory though...
