Job for American

Hello again!!!
Me and the Fiance (soon to be wife) Might decide to stay in Colombia to live out our lives but before we can do that i would need confirmation of a good job down in Colombia so we could make a living.Bogota would be best but any help would be appreciated!

She Would go to college from her parents pocket so thats taken care of but since i dont need a visa down there i would like to just pickup a stable job something English speaking that i dont need any visa for. I am just getting out of the Marine Corps and have not gone to college but i am loyal and learn quickly.

I know some spanish not a whole lot but would take classes at night and work during the day or vice versa. if anyone knows a website to look at or has some jobs they want filed by an american let me know and ill email a resume or anything ya ask.

Any help would be appreciated in this matter as me and the Mrs just wanna live our lives and not be burdened by anything!

Thanks for the replys

Well i dont need a work visa down there to get a job from what ive been reading or could get paid cash and also i have read that people have taken on private students and earned a good living just by teaching them but i would like a regular job, now my fiances parents own about 6 resturaunts and they say a normal employee gets about 1 mil pesos a month so id like to recieve a tad more lol.

Don't know where you received the information about not needing a visa. You were incorrectly informed.

Your best bet and the quickest would be a "spouse visa." You would need permission to work on the spouse visa and you can NOT get a separate work visa (just like the USA-you can only have one visa at a time).

Without decent Spanish skills, way past "Una ma cerveza, por favor." Your job prospects are Slim and none and Slim just left town.

Gator is right...........as he usually is................I asked the questions because you give the impression in your post that you have a different perception of life here, than what is actually the reality.............................without proper documentation to allow you to work........without the ability to speak Spanish...........without a skill or profession that is in demand...........????

I don't mean to be a spoiler.........and I am not a negative person............but .....................you say...." just wanna live our lives and not be burdened by anything! "

Given your circumstances.....!! ..........you are going to need to get really lucky.
All the best.

I'd like to move to colombia, marry a beautiful woman, find a job that doesn't require me to speak english, get paid millions of dollars, and never work more than five minutes a day. Any tips?

Are you fresh out of the Marines as a young guy - say mid 20s - or are you retiring from the Marines after 20 or 25 years?
