JOB contracting with Colombian military-just a question

Today I had the strangest encounter at a lunch meeting at work today...

I was at our monthly networking meeting with some colleagues today ( I work in the mental health/SA field. I got to know the director of a residential program who was obviously Hispanic. I introduced myself and he then told me about himself-he says he's Cuban and I tell him I am Colombian. I then ask-Well have you ever been to South America, he bursts my bubble my stating-I CONTRACT WITH THE COLOMBIAN MILITARY!!!!!!!! I was speechless to say the least!! I mean I just came back from Colombia and have a lot of nostalgia still!!!! he proceeds to show me numerous pictures of him and many dignataries on his plaque ornated wall. One was him w/ the vice president's wife. He tells me that he works in anti-narcotics efforts there, advises the military, etc. through a joint venture with the US Embassy-Or I guess Dept. of State rather. I tell him how I have always wanted to do something in the supply side of the conflict and he tells me opportunites aboun-he obviously has the connections. We exchange emails & numbers-He invites me for luch and wants to talk to the more about this. When we conclude he reliterates to me - that he is fascinated with Colombia-I tell him I look forward to the meeting
Again this fellow has not military background-merely a mental health clinician. Do you think that there's a chance something could come out of this???

Sounds like he knows what he is talking about Lots of US involvement through Plan Colombia. I know several gringos who are aircraft mechanics and areo engineeers who work at the base out side of Melgar.

BTW, not something to really broadcast to the general public.

Latin Girl I cannot believe that you would be so stupid to post what someone has obviously told you in confidence of a sensitive nature. He also had to be stupid to tell you this condidential information. It does not belong in a public forum and you are not deserving of the information he gave you. An old phase (from WWII I think) is "LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS". I have made a mental note not to hire any ex-Mental-Health clinician employees.

If he has numerous pictures of him and many dignataries on his plaque ornated wall. I don't think its too much of a secret,
