I just missed it. I left for home maybe an hour before it happened. If you read El Pais on line version there is no mention of ChipiChape in the first reports. I like reading it because below the storys readers can make comments on the story. In the robbery, readers were wondering why El Pais didn't mention that it occured in ChipiChape.
Another story is about the unemployment rate which the government claims is now at 11.4%. The readers comments section are interesting to read. They almost all say the numbers are bullshit. These comments are coming from people who have computers or computer access, so they are probably better off than the majority of the people.
Yesterday in the latest polls, Uribe is down to 55%. If he continues to slide the writers are suggesting a possible run-off. This slide in popularity could be part of the reason for the recent dollar gains against the peso. There are charges of major corruption against Uribe that is hurting his popularity.

michaelz says on Apr 28, 2006, 08:07: which store Do you know which jewelry store was robbed? Is it the one in the back of the mall, in a small hallway around the corner from the record shop?

michaelz says on Apr 28, 2006, 09:25: thanks... keep me posted. The store I'm thinking of would be perfect for that kind of robbery. Its in the back, away from the main entrance, and can be accessed via a short passageway where only a few stores are located.
