I have chosen to go to Colombia for my honeymoon, my family is from there and my boyfriend speaks fluent spanish. We went to Bogota this year and loved it. Usually we would do this independently because we are big travelers but because it is our honeymoon we want to organize the itinerary beforehand with a travel agent. Here is what they gave us:
4 days/3 nights Cartagena in colonial hotel
Tour of Islas del Rosario and Playa Blanca (day trip) - Is it worth it to stay the night?
4 days/3 nights San Andres (Is a flight to Providenica worth it - or too much beach)
3 days/2nights Santa Marta/Tayrona National Park
I am considering adding either Cali or Medillin OR maybe just stopping over in Panama on the way back? My issue is we like to party, which one of these places would be a good add-on to this itinerary? And does this package look good? Sorry for the long post.

That way you can fly back home from Bogota.... But, if you must party in Medellin or Cali... I'd say Medellin, only because you'd be closer on the northern end of Colombia... Cali is a bit further south... not a big difference, but if time is of the essense.... then I'd say stick with Medellin.... The trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed. - CS Lewis 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

That is a concern - I want to stay at nice places. People have also told me there is so much to see maybe skipping Cali and Medillin and just doing side trips to Providencia. Tayrona, and Islas del Rosario.

nflores07070 says on Oct 12, 2007, 09:25: I think that is what I will do! I take off one night in San Andres and head to Santa Marta for an extra night, staying 1 or 2 nights in El Rodadero and then staying two nights in Tayrona (Echohabs maybe). Are the Irotama or Zuana worth it in Santa Marta? BTW, I think my plan is stopping in Bogota on the way out anyway, so might just stop at the Zona Rosa.
