Most larger corporations now a days (even in Colombia) post open requisitions to their website. They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

In Medellin, you will find offices for all the big banks, airlines, and I do not know the names, but major textile companies, major exporters, and companies that deal with commodities. Mononoke28 says on Oct 30, 2008, 10:21: Yes there are. My husband was hired by the CVC in Tuluá through an contracting company. He tells me this is becoming the norm because that way companies can hire and get rid off as many people as they want without having to pay extra or giving them any kind of benefits. rhydewithdis (☼Travelguide writer) says on Oct 30, 2008, 10:43: Mononoke28, I think azunoman was referring more to recruiting companies/head hunting firms that place full-time (and consulting) candidates with employers. The norm (at least here in EEUU) is that a recruiting company will get 20-30% of first year salary for each full-time hire they place and they will take 20-30%of hourly rate (or a flat rate) for each consultant they place. leftside says on Nov 1, 2008, 19:33: I'm moving to Colombia for a year starting next year March. The plan is to live with my Colombian girlfriend and decide if we want to get married before I start the long process of bringing her into Canada. I'm a software consultant. I'm currently negotiating with IT companies in Canada in regard to some teleworking (I'm an architect/senior developer who specializes in .NET/C#/SOA/BizTalk) whilst I am in Colombia. I haven't used a pimp for a few years, but they can be useful.
