is this a scam?

i am looking for housing and recently responded to an advertisement. below is the response i received. it sounds too good to be true plus any mention of west africa raises flags in my mind. he says this is near the gun club in zona t.

guys/gals...give it a damn break. get dry behind the ears before you decide to save the world. learn a bit about the real colombia...outside of the cities..before you arive at all these conclusiions as to what are the problems, the solutions, the good guys, and the bad ones.

what do you really know? how long have you been here? where have you been? get real on these issues and you'll soon get in line to have an opinion. trust me, the line is long.

hey no worries! i'm new to Colombia and in the process of studying the culture and just trying to figure out how to survive here. i'm not looking to step on any toes so i wanted to be sure i hadn't done something that would be fine at home but not here. i'm still trying to expand that worldview!
