I may be staying in this location in Bogota.
CR 7A No 127 C 63
But I am not sure how nice it is here or how convenient it is to get to restaurants or clubs. Do the use of taxis solve this problem?

Cerealkiller says on Nov 3, 2008, 08:39: That is Santa Barbara Oriental, the bit between cr 7 and cr 9... Its a good location. It used to be older houses but I know houses are being replaced by new buildings so I imagine it is nicer now. However, the parts between cr 2 -cr7 and cr 9 av19 are way nicer. Lets say its less nice than its surrounding areas, but still pretty ok. That area is within walking distance from usaquen, which has really nice bars and very good restaurants (and an outdoors market on Sundays), and not very far from parque de la 93 and zona rosa, getting there might cost 6k pesos or a little under 3 dollars so its pretty cheap. ColombianoGringo (Moderator) (Trustee board) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Nov 3, 2008, 09:07: That's a pretty good location. It is a little farther out than the other locations you'd mentioned, but as CK stated, it is pretty close to Usaquen which is good. You are also reasonably close to Hacienda Santa Barbara and Unicentro which are both good places to shop. One thing to note is that you will be right on Cra Septima which has very heavy traffic during commuting times, so plan your traveling accordingly. Cerealkiller says on Nov 3, 2008, 12:16: No, its not right on Cr 7ma, its at least a block down, hence the 7A, you wont have any problems with heavy traffic keeping you awake. Oh and I was wrong on the exact location, its not Santa Barbara, its Bella Suiza, on the other side of calle 127, which is just a couple of blocks away, still a safe and residential area. La_Huella says on Nov 3, 2008, 12:38: Well, Google Maps still has the old nomenclature. I have also seen Cra 7 written incorrectly as Cra 7a a lot. The thing for the OP to do would be to make damn sure it's not right on la 7 if he doesn't want lots of traffic

La_Huella says on Nov 5, 2008, 22:54: The worst traffic in Bogota is from the Autopista east and from Cll 80 north to about 127th st during afternoon rush hours. Cra 7 is definitely included in this. With the contraflujo it's fine though Chapinero but the moment you hit El Retiro it's gridlock city, baby.

ColombianoGringo (Moderator) (Trustee board) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Nov 6, 2008, 07:23: I didn't mean that you'd have traffic keeping you awake. However, you will likely have to take Cra Septima to go anywhere and that had very heavy traffic during the day, especially during commuting times. La_Huella says on Nov 6, 2008, 07:31: cra 9 is brutal right now because they are doing construcion all along the 120s. It's even worse than 7 at times because of that.
