You can get things Notarised at the US Embassy that are aceptable in the US. I had to have it done when I was in Panama and sold my house in the US. They will charge you by the signiture so It cost me about $35.00. and were signed by the assitant cousul.

Also, if you know a U.S. military officer you can get your document notarized. All militayr officers of the U.S. are notarized. Also, more than likely, the document that you have alreayd notarized is good eneough. There are treaties out there that allow for these type of things. I think it is part of the Hague Convention Treaty.

...and so it goes

You can get it notarized and then apostilled and it will be accepted...due to Colombias participation in the blah blah blah convention of Geneva. I had all my important documents notarized and apostilled after my wedding in Colombia just to be safe.

The question is not can a notary in Colombia do the act BUT rather will that document be acceptable in the jurisdiction in which it will be used.

As to military officers they may notarize for military personnel and their dependants only
