I need a good shopping place when i move to Bogota. I like shopping at TJ Maxx because they are name brand prices that are marked down alot. So, does anybody know clothes stores like this?

ietk says on Oct 31, 2008, 06:02: morphus you got that right! especially in Barranquilla, be ready to answer a lot of questions if you use the same outfit for two different family gathering or if you have a not known brand of jeans or shoes, in Bogota is not that bad people do not pay attention to what you wear that much but they do it, when I was in Bogota I went to Arturo Calle I like their clothes but the thing is that they did not have any XXL or size 40 pants in Colombia is hard to get those sizes the good thing is since then I am back to XL and 38 and going lower, another place would be Fallabela but anywhere you go be ready to pay the price because brand name items there are expensive.

There are all types of botiques that sell mostly european brands and at good prices. Especially men's clothes. I buy european custom fitted suites there for half what I would pay in NYC.

ColombianoGringo (Moderator) (Trustee board) says on Oct 31, 2008, 07:02: As far as name brands, Morphus is right for the most part. American brands tend to be outrageously priced in Colombia. You will normally pay at least as much if not more than in the US for brands like Lacoste, Polo, Kenneth Cole, etc. You can find some places that have discounts, but you should be careful with what you buy. A lot of counterfeit items are sold in discount stores. For example, Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger are some of the most counterfeited brands in Colombia.

raquel23 says on Oct 31, 2008, 12:10: Well, considering that Bogota is a city of beautiful fashion, i am open to there way of styles. Alot of my friends keep themselves dressed nice and they dont pay for name brand clothes. It will be fun to go shopping for some new styles than the regular "American" made styles here.
