Her house is on a corner and nearly every car going past beeped their horns ALL night long. Now only crickets and birds disturb my sleep. Mr. Bill Somondoco 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Papi de Alejo says on Jun 21, 2009, 13:21: My first stay in Rodadero was at the end of July 2007; after the high season. I stayed in Santa Maria del Mar and I could hear the parties on the beach until well after 3:00am. I can only imagine how it might be now. Still, all in all, love Rodadero. Live simply... Saltador says on Jun 21, 2009, 13:44: Ahhh yes, the achilles heel of Rodadero. Love the place, but those drums on the beach until 3-4 in the morning are godawful.

teeo9111 says on Jun 22, 2009, 07:46: Flatline, I live in Palmero. I rent an apartment in one of the new buildings next to the soccer stadium. My girlfriends family lives in San Sebastian so I spend a lot of time there unfortunately as it is a poor neighborhood and robberies are on the increase and being gringo I can't walk around at night and I hate that because where I live in Manizales I can walk anywhere at night.

larryrn says on Jun 22, 2009, 08:53: Rodadero is always noisy on the weekends. I came really close to moving there - looked at maybe a dozen places but ended up in Santa Marta. There is more crime where there are tourists - and living in an apartment building where they rent out the place by the weeks - has an major increase in crime since people are coming and going all the time. Let alone the problems of thousands of people on the small beach there.. quantum says on Jun 22, 2009, 09:42: great idea Flatline....buy em outta of the barrio.....like that one. And for thoze of u who dont like noise (like me) dont even bother comin to Panama, cuz its the universal epicenter of raucous noise. They LOVE their noise, thrive on it, bask in it, crave it like a drug and have the god awful worse taste in music in the whole solar system......tell ya the truth, I thought Colombia was comparatively quiet.......... quantum 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Oddly I haven't been around americans when guns have been going off, maybe they are ok with it. gringcolo says on Jun 23, 2009, 12:17: I lived in Rodadero for 2 years (1985-1987). It's been awhile, but it was always lively for 3 day weekends and holiday periods. During a normal week, it was very laid back and tranquil. In fact, it was so tranquil that I got bored and moved back to Barranquilla where I had lived before.
