Is LACSA airlines any good?

I found a good ticket flying from Miami, Florida to Bucaramanga. The airline provider is LACSA airlines and they will make a stop in Costa rica as well. I've never heard of LACSA and I wanted to know if it is a safe and dependable company. I would be thankful for any good or bad experiences that any of you have had while flying through this airline. Thanks.

I Don't Use LACSA Any More I was a regular customer up untill five years ago, The baggage handling be came very poor and three were problems with maintainance and being on time. In all fairness I have not flown with LACSA in that time period and it is possible there has been improvement. I just gave up after at least three missed connections. One from Caracas to Barranquilla which made me miss an important business deal. I then switched to ACES(gone but not forgotten). Now it's either Avianca or COPA. BTW, I am a stong backer of COPA, Pamama's national carrier.

Please take into account this is my personnal feeling and others my fing LACSA A-OK

It's just my opinion, But I would pass on the Lasca Ticket.
I have seen them also. If it's the schedule with about 3 or 4 layovers, you don't want it. I will personally guarantee you will miss at least 1 of the flights. For the money you will save it is not worth the headache of sleeping 2 nights in different airports and being a day late just to save 50-100 bucks. Personal opinion only but

If time is important to you I would try fly911.com or Mars travel out of Houston, Texas. I have bought several tickets through them in just the last year and always found them to be the cheapest of any ticket provider. TIP....avoid the tickets that have you arriving in Bogota around 8pm and have the flight to Bucaramanga leaving around 9:45.

You simply won't make the flight because there is not enough time to go through customs and passport control. You will either sleep in the terminal until the 6am flight to Buc. Or you could get a room near the airport.

LACSA ok to me It seems to be clear from the others that its not the best way to go, in my opinion i think they are pretty good. I had to stop over in Costa Rica a few times and never had a problem or a delay, I was only there a couple of hours though. Your call.

LACSA is the WORST airline!!! I will NEVER use LACSA again, and I warn all others. I paid for a roundtrip ticket at a great deal. I flew from Los Angeles to Costa Rica. When I attempted to return, they said I didn't have a ticket, and basically forced me to buy a one-way ticket at a huge price. I charged it to my credit card (over $1,000) thinking I could dispute the charge. WRONG. My credit card negotiated a return for half of the original price of the ticket ($175) and I got stuck paying $1,175 for a ticket that should have been $350. It's not a good idea to fly with LACSA. You will lose in the long run.

LACSA If your cost differential is only a few dollars then I would opt for another carrier. My wife and I were laid over in CTG for many hours (11) as the LACSA jet (we are talking engine repair here) was being repaired and tested right in front of the passengers. After having watched many different colors of smoke bellow out of the engine we were then told to board the aircraft. A few passengers refused. The rest of us made it safely to MIA. You would think LACSA employees (flight attendants)would have tried to calm our nerves with a beverage or two, however, just the opposite...no food, snack, some soda, water, and it seemed like serving a can of soda was a quite the hassle at that. By the way, LACSA could have cared less about our missed connection in MIA. No help what-so-ever.

Ah, LACSA!!! Let's see? Years ago I flew LACSA often(like in the late 70's to late 80's) then economic problems took over.

1. Left sitting in the following airports: Miam1, Panama City, Caracas, SAan José twice and Managua(what an experience that was).

2. Flights put on hold for mechanical problems at least four times. Once, in San José, the repair part had to be flown in from New York City.

3. Bags lost twice, once never found. Thought once I did think I saw a Tico wearing my Gator tee shirt.

4. Attitude? Go F____ yourself Gringo! And my Spanish is excellent and my wife is from Colombia and we never got to first base.

Do not be penny wise and pound foolish. Avianca has made vast improvements and never overlook COPA. A great well-run airlines that usually allows a free stopover in Panama City.

Too many other choices, IMHO, rule LACSA out.

A la orden,

Gator
