I moved from San Diego to Berkeley, to go to UC Berkeley and there are no resturants in the Bay area only one in San Francisco on Valencia Street I think the address is 1530 or 1130 Valencia street there is the Majudual. That place is small, but you can buy Pony Malta y postabone soda with arepas de queso, and the juices mango, maracuja, guava and all.

heat says on Sep 21, 2004, 12:53: Majudual what's up with the place on Valencia? Is it any good? Is it authentic? I have been wanting to try it except it does get somewhat mixed reviews. I've heard people say that it isn't authentic. I believe it is also part mexican too. i think the wife is colombian and the husband may be mexican.

Bucaramanga says on Oct 2, 2004, 11:19: Bay Area Restaurants I have actually been to both the Colombian restaurants mentioned here. The one on Valencia in the Mission (El Majahual 1142 Valencia 415-821-7514) is both Colombian and also has food from El Salvador. The owner is Colombian and the cooks are from El Salvador but the owner taught them how to prepare the dishes. The food there is EXCELLENT. I am from Houston where there are tons of Colombian restaurants and I think the food is great though there is very little variety (there's much more on the El Salvador menu). The empanadas are really good too-- I heard people come from Sacramento just to get them.
